Meet the Fat Man

I’m a newspaperman and writer living on the Massachusetts coast. I love the ocean, but I’d rather be in the woods. I’m currently climbing all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000-foot mountains — slowly — to raise money for Kestrel Educational Adventures. I write mostly about hiking, running the outdoors and what it all means to me but I often digress to favorite topics, like BBQ and beer…

    Hi Dave,
Loved the Christmas eve post – and as your aunt, I know only too well that it’s all true!
I think your brother Matt is still searching for THE perfect tree! Was fun to read and remember how cute you guys were in snowsuits – even if they did have pitch on them…!

I personally loved the rides home as well. A weary father, three boys and a tree, all packed into a Chevy Chevette.

    Hi,
Great blog! I’d like to have TrailsNH.com start following your blog. If you add a “Trip Report” category and tag your trips, I’ll have TrailsNH geo-tag and index your trip reports. Thanks. Give me a shout if you want.

  6. Nice to meet ya, Mr. Fat Man! We hail from the Pacific Northwest in the majestic Olympic Peninsula area of Washington State. We are interested in the people, quality of life and places for recreation out in your neck of the woods, mountains, etc. Thanks for your blog, we look forward to reading more!
